Dr. Margaret Lobo
, FRSA, is the founder and Director of the Otakar Kraus Music Trust (OKMT), The Music Therapy Trust (TMTT) in India and The Music Therapy Trust Nepal (TMTTN). She qualified at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1987, is a fully registered member of the UK Health Professions council (HPC) and the British Association of Music Therapists (BAMT).

In 2010 Margaret was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Middlesex University for her major contribution to the community in the UK, India & Nepal in the field of Health and Social Sciences. Margaret is also one of the named mentors for the ‘ASHA Foundation, “Inspirational Women From Around the World” and in 2003 was nominated for the Beacon prize for her philanthropic work. Her endeavors in the UK and India were also recognised in 2007 by the award of a Fellowship from the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA).

Award-winning Margaret has had numerous articles published both nationally and locally and is a regular broadcaster.  She featured in the BBC film “The Power of Music” narrated by Sir Paul Mcartney, in documentaries for MTV TV, on BBC radio.  In India she has participated in articles written in:

Carmen Coles

Carmen Coles (SRAsT) is a full member of the BAMT and also is registered with the HPC (Health Professions Council). She originally qualified in Brazil (having taken a 4-year full-time degree in music therapy) and then gained accreditation in the UK, having completed a module at APU (Anglia Polythechnic University). She has worked with children and adults with a wide range of conditions (ranging from learning disabilities, special needs, emotional and behavioural difficulties, dementia etc) both in Brazil and the UK.

 

 

Edison R Carolino

Edison R Carolino qualified at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama completing a Department of Health approved Diploma in Music Therapy (SRAsT(M)) and also is registered with the HPC (Health Professions Council). Edison works for the Otakar Kraus Music Trust with children and adults with a wide range of conditions and at four outreach centres in Twickenham, Kew, Willesden and Fulham.

 

 

 

Liz Butt

Liz Butt qualified at Roehampton Institute with a diploma in Music Therapy (SRAMsT(M)) and also is registered with the HPC (Health Professions Council). She is now running the outreach centre in Rye East Sussex for the Otakar Kraus Music Trust. She is State Registered and a member of the BAMT and works with a wide variety of clients from children with ASD to the elderly and adults with neurological conditions. She also runs a private practice from her home in Rye.

 

 

Julia Serebriakov
Following a Music & English literature degree at the University of Leeds, Julia gained her first experience of music therapy at a Romanian institute where she volunteered as an assistant with the charity Music as Therapy. She qualified as a music therapist in 2008 with an MA from Roehampton University and recently began working for the Otakar Kraus Music Trust with adults with PMLD; Julia also works with children with autistic spectrum disorders at Kisimul School in Surrey. In addition to her music therapy work, she performs professionally as a jazz singer under her maiden name of Jules Haycock.

 

 

Christina Rhys

Christina was a Foundation Scholar at the RCM. As a harpist she has performed as soloist and chamber musician at the Wigmore Hall and South Bank, and has worked with many of the country’s leading symphony and chamber orchestras including the LSO, RPO, CBSO and Northern Sinfonia. She has also recorded under the Naxos label and broadcast on Radio 3. Christina studied music therapy at Roehampton University, is registered with the BAMT and HPC; she also works at Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust, at the Penny Brohn Cancer Care in Bristol and with pre-school children at Montessori schools in North London.

 

 

Emma Goldschmied
After completing a  BA in Music Technology (1:1) at Rose Bruford College, Emma gained her MA in Music Therapy from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2010. Her main experience is with children in educational and NHS settings, but she has also worked in a hospital for adults with acute mental illness. Emma recently began working for Otakar Kraus Music Trust in community and mainstream school settings. She also works as part-time Music Therapist at Columbus Special School in Chelmsford, Essex, and freelance for Being in Rhythm, providing music therapy in childrens’ centres in South West London. Emma is registered with the HPC and is a member of the BAMT (British Association of Music Therapists).
